1952 – Thomas R. Herrig – 2016
Thomas R. Herrig was born on February 20, 1952, in Slayton Minnesota, and was raised in Iona, Minnesota. After graduating High School, Tom settled in Omaha, Nebraska where he founded Thingsville, Inc., a chain of novelty and clothing stores that spread across the Midwest. Later in life Tom started a landscaping business. Tom was devoted to and loved to spend time with his children. Thomas passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at the age of 64.
He is survived by his sons: Kyle Herrig, Ryan (Hilary) Herrig, and Scott Herrig; daughter Elizabeth (Mark) Schulte; siblings: Rose (Jerry) Haeg, Joe (Nancy) Herrig, Ed (Marilyn) Herrig, and Marge (Gerry) Swart; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at the John A. Gentleman 72nd St. Chapel, Omaha, NE. Memorials may be sent to Kyle Herrig, care of John A. Gentleman Mortuaries.
