In what has been a two phase implementation plan, the Murray County Central School District is now set to introduce its system of security for its elementary and secondary school buildings.

“This has been discussed at MCC for years, and was a board decision,” secondary principal Jacob Scandrett notes. This means that visitors to either building will find the interior doors locked and will be asked to communicate with an operator their identify and reason for entering the building.

Phase one of the project led the school to purchase cameras that were posted at various locations throughout the buildings.  Now with phase two, a new key fob system has been put into place and will allow the school to more effectively direct the traffic into the building and to have more control where people enter.
