MCC Rebels Section 3A Champions; Headed to State

The Murray County Central Rebels had advanced to the Section 3A Title game against the Adrian Dragons. The Rebels blew out both the TMB Panthers and the RRC Falcons in the first two rounds of the playoffs to move on to a game in which every competitor wanted to play. A game with great meaning, a trip to the state tournament, but also a game against a rival that beat you on your own homecoming. The Rebels got a rematch they could only have dreamed of and with a little trickery, some good hitting, and a few nervous moments the Rebels’ season becomes one that will be remembered for decades.

The Schwans Regional Event Center in Marshall is a terrific football venue and when you can watch playoff football in your t-shirt in November you are leading a charmed life. At first it didn’t appear the day was to be one for the history books for the Rebels. Their first drive was a quick three and out and after a penalty on the punt the Dragons were inside the Rebels 40 yard line to begin the game.
