  Leonard Daniels, the son of Albert and Viola (Quirk) Daniels, was born on July 28, 1929 in Deuel County, South Dakota near Revello. He grew up on a farm near Revello and attended elementary school in Labolt, South Dakota and high school in Grant County. Leonard moved to Fulda, Minnesota in 1949 and worked for Joe Kunerth. In 1951 he moved to Scoby, Montana and worked on a ranch. Leonard was united in marriage to Betty Schumm on August 20, 1951 in Scoby, Montana After their marriage they lived in Scoby until 1952 when they moved to Slayton, Minnesota. They moved to Fulda in 1994 and have wintered in Gilbert, Arizona since 1991. He worked for Rupp Construction for 25 years and for the Murray County Highway Dept. for 10 years. Leonard passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at his home in Fulda at the age of 87. He was a member of Lake Sarah Baptist Church rural Slayton, where he had served as a Deacon, Awana Leader and an usher. He enjoyed working on cars, and fishing but his favorite pastime was spending time with his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.

Survivors include his wife Betty Daniels, Fulda, MN; seven children: Lee Daniels, Phoenix, AZ, Debra (Dennis) Appel, Queen Creek, AZ, Sue (Les Speckmier) Daniels, Fulda, MN, Doug (Jane Olsem) Daniels, Fulda, MN, Tim (Patti) Daniels, Willmar, MN, Joan (Loren) Olson,Lake Arrowhead, CA and Becky (Brian) Taylor, Phoenix, AZ; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister Mary Polquin, Spokane, WA; brother James (Mary) Daniels, Slayton, MN; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Aldon Daniels and granddaughter Justine Daniels.

Funeral services  were held at Lake Sarah Baptist Church rural Slayton, MN at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 with Rev. John Lassen officiating. Special music provided by the Praise Team. The soloist was Donna Getzel. The pallbearers were James Meyer, Wendell King, Mark Hartle, Kim Hanson, Gary Schumm, Linda Schumm and Cindy Galdkin. Interment at Lake Sarah Baptist Cemetery rural Slayton, MN. The Totzke Funeral Home in Fulda  assisted the family with arrangements. Send condolences online at www.totzkefuneralhome.com.
