Jottings by Jerry – December 21

It is just three days before Christmas and everything is going great. If only we could figure out those last few gifts that are needed to finish the list. It’s usually the same ones that we said last year that we would do early this year. I don’t let it bother me, much. The selection of the perfect gift for those few people diminishes to a point that it reverses itself and suddenly anything will work. You just know that you will start the search right after the holidays this year.

The cold over the past weekend reminded us of where we live. That cold was clocked at a negative 25 and bonded us together as hardy Minnesotans. You can wear that badge proudly as a survivor of the arctic blast. It will also make the rest of the winter look easy. So a little more snow this Christmas will be greeted warmly.

Three men die in a car accident Christmas Eve. They all find themselves at the pearly gates waiting to enter Heaven. On entering they must present something relating or associated with Christmas.

The first man searches his pocket, and finds some Mistletoe, so he is allowed in.

The second man presents a cracker, so he is also allowed in.

The third man pulls out a pair of stockings.

Confused at this last gesture, St. Peter asks, “How do these represent Christmas?”

   “They’re Carol’s.”

We wish you the best this holiday season and have a very Merry Christmas!
