Slayton Friends of the Library 2018 Chocolate Affaire

Each year in February the Slayton Friends of the Library holds the Chocolate Affaire, their major fundraising event for the local public library. Last year the funds raised were used for the children’s area at the library. Many wonderful new educational interactive toys and furnishings were added to the children’s area during the year. Here is a list of what was purchased.

• Puppet Theater, Puppet Tree, and Puppets

• Tepee

• Activity Table

• Educational Toys – Monkey Gears, Joy Mags, Wooden, Train Set

• Scoop Rockers

This years’ Chocolate Affaire will be held Friday, February 9 at the Dinehart Holt House. For the $6.00 admission fee, you may enjoy a variety of chocolate treats, baked goods, and candies. There is also a silent auction with a variety of handmade items, baskets, and chocolate items. There will be musical guests performing during the afternoon to add to the festive feel.

The Friends of the Library have decided that the funds from the 2018 Chocolate Affaire will go towards purchasing a Culligan water cooler, a coffee cart and Keurig coffee maker, and a magazine wall rack for starting a community magazine exchange.

If you would like to be involved in the Chocolate Affaire, there are sign up sheets for silent auction items, fudge, and chocolate treats at the Slayton Public Library. Call the library at 836-8778 for more information.

We hope to see you at the 2018 Chocolate Affaire!
