The MCC Rebels took to the floor Tuesday night in a big Red Rock Conference matchup. The top team in the conference this year continues to be the Southwest Christian Eagles. The Red Rock Central Falcons are just a game behind in the standings. The Rebels were hoping to add another loss to the Falcons record evening the two teams in the standings, but that was not in the cards Tuesday as the Falcons had all the answers. The Rebels struggled Tuesday and it was the Falcons who took advantage.

The Falcons are led by senior point guards Brady Rasmussen and junior center Spencer Halland. Halland got into early foul trouble in this game and didn’t play a major factor in the game scoring just two points. Rasmussen, on the other hand, proved why he might be the best individual player in the conference this season. He scored from the inside and he scored from the perimeter. He did not start quickly but the Falcons jumped on the Rebels early with Sam Hansen scoring the first four points in the game.

The senior guard was hot from the three-point line to start the game with a pair of three’s on his way to a seven-point first half.

The Rebels rallied to close the game behind Mason Woldt and Spencer Wajer. The duo combined for 22 first-half points but the Rebels balance on offense was not there. Only two other Rebels scored in the first half and they had a total of three points. The Falcons opened up a double-digit lead in the first half and went to the halftime break leading 34 to 25.
