The Murray County Central Rebels have not been 3-0 since 2007. The Rebels that season started hot but lost four of the last five games to finish the year 4-4. They went on to make it to the section finals where they lost to Springfield. This team was looking to make a statement with their homecoming game on Friday. Beat the Adrian Dragons and take a firm hold of the top spot in the section halfway through the season. Unfortunately, the Rebels played their worst game of the season and though the stats don’t show it, key mistakes cost the Rebels greatly.

Their first drive of the game was a good one as they took the opening kick and drove inside the Adrian 30 yard line. The Rebels made their first mistake when Frank Serrao intercepted a Brady Kramer pass inside the Rebels five yard line and he returned it to the 14. The Dragons drive following the interception would get just past midfield before they were forced to punt.

The Rebels drove 80 yards to take the lead. The biggest plays came from Cole Bassett who had two big runs that would get the ball inside the ten yard line. He scored with 1:08 remaining in the first quarter. Bassett added the catch on the two points conversion to put the Rebels in the lead 8-0. It was the final points the Rebels scored in this game.
