Tuesday the MCC Rebel girls were in Okabena to take on the Wildcats and hoping to have their first winning streak of the season. The Rebels surprised the Adrian Dragons on Saturday and knew they had a good chance to knock off the Wildcats. They have been playing its best basketball of the season but that doesn’t mean the team isn’t without issues. The Wildcats are much like the Rebels as both teams have three wins and struggle to put a full game together. This will go down as a missed opportunity for the Rebels as basketball karma caught up to MCC on Tuesday night.

The Rebels had a great defensive game against the Adrian Dragons but the Dragons missed plenty of shots when they did get open looks at the hoops. Well on Tuesday if the Wildcats were open the shot was going in more times than not. HLO shot 52 percent in the first half but far too many of the shots they took were open. Gabi Stenzel got off to a great start scoring 11 first half points but she picked up her second foul early in the game and was forced to sit out a large portion of the first half.

MCC trailed by double digits for a long time in the first half. With Stenzel out the Rebels began to chip away at the lead. Riley Schmitz got hot for a while scoring seven points and then Montana Beckmann warmed up for seven points.
