The Murray County Central Rebel Boys Monday night were at home to begin a busy week with three home games all against quality opponents. The Rebels hosted Worthington on Monday, followed by Mountain Lake Area on Tuesday, and Friday night against the Adrian Dragons. The Rebels will be challenged in each contest so the Rebels will have to play well to not only win games, but also stay in the games. On Monday the Rebels played the Trojans in what turned into a defensive chess match.

The Rebels played a back and forth game against Southwest Minnesota Christian last Thursday where both teams went up and down the floor scoring into the 70’s.

The Rebels and the Trojans game was also an up and down the court, however, the two teams scored nearly half the points as the Rebels and the Eagles a week ago. It came down to one key stat – poor shooting. Both teams shot under 35% from the field and neither team shot well from the free throw line. The first half was a half of runs with the both teams going on short runs point wise over long periods of time. The Rebels had a 6-0 run that covered over three minutes of playing time. MCC had longer runs in the first 18 minutes. Cole Bassett scored 11 points in the first half using his speed to get open around the basket. Mason Whitehead had another nice game with 8 first half points and his post mate Tyler Groves scored 6 points.
