Jana Moon, Marshall, MN, recently became the owner of The Log Cabin in Dovray, and she is very excited about this new venture.

Having began waitressing at the Happy Chef, now known as Mike’s Cafe, in Marshall, at the age of 16, Moon is not new to the restaurant industry.

She has also worked in the HyVee Deli, at Marshall Golf Club and at This Ol’ Place in Garvin. “I have worked in the food industry in one capacity or another since I started working,” Moon shared. “I especially like a family atmosphere restaurant. I worked at This Ol’ Place for sixteen years. The owners sold it recently and it is now known at Saloon 59.”

When asked how she came to purchase The Log Cabin, which is well-known for its broasted chicken and great-tasting meals, Moon said, “My dad called me the day before the auction and asked if I knew that The Log Cabin was going up for auction.  I didn’t. But we made some calls, came to Dovray and did a walk through. It immediately felt like home to me. It is just so inviting and welcoming.”

Moon quickly made arrangements, placed her bids for The Log Cabin and was very happy to have become the new owner.
