The follow is a short summary of a missionary trip made in early January, 2017 by a group of 21 based out of Skandia Evangelical Free Church.

Day 1:

The first group of two left Minneapolis at 5:00 a.m., the second at 6:00 a.m.  With different layover durations and locations, the once closely separated groups found themselves over seven hours apart upon arrival in Panama.  After such a lengthy day of travel, the team sought slumber.

Day 2:

As the sun breached the horizon of La Chorrera, 21 missionaries from Minnesota started their first full day with the Alpha & Omega Family Ministry.  Their first view in the daylight was new for most, but beautiful to all.  From the back of Beth-El, they would be treated to that same view for the next six mornings.

After breakfast, everyone gathered for an introductory briefing.  At this time, those from 2,600 miles to the north were introduced to another 4 missionaries from Kansas, most of which were part of the groups medical team.

Once briefed for the day, the troop headed into the city of La Chorrera to begin their ministry.  Most members were tasked with flyer distribution in a local town square, to inform the public of a Christian music and word event held later that evening.

The handful of missionaries that were shopping for supplies during the others’ advertising efforts, met back with the main bunch for lunch.  A much desired break from the heat.  With the full group united following the meal break, they found themselves back at he the square from earlier in the day.  They arrived as such to continue handing out information all the way up to the time of the show.
