Jottings by Jerry – March 8

I took a few days off in February to escape the brutal cold temps and howling wind. It turns out that our weather here amazed everyone with temperatures in the sixty plus range. The vacation was nice. We spent a few days near Quadalajara in the mountains of central Mexico and bussed west to Puerto Vallarta for the rest of our vacation. It was our first time using a bus for a long distance. It was about five hours in a comfortable seat and cost $29. Louise was not looking forward to it but flying would have taken us south to Mexico City then back north after a two hour layover. The time was well invested in fun and relaxation. I have graduated from the rolling walker to a cane and have my ten pound weight restriction changed to twenty five pounds. I can stand mostly straight and have very little pain. The back surgery was a success but I still can’t play the piano.

The crazy weather makes you wonder if we will be mowing grass, shoveling snow or both on April Fools Day. My guess is we will have all that and more to keep us guessing.

A lady is at a job interview for a receptionist position.

“I see you used to be employed by a psychologist. Why did you leave?”

“Well, I just couldn’t win. If I was late to work, I was hostile. If I was early, I was anxious. And if I was on time, I was obsessional.”

“I’m not saying that the customer service in my bank is bad, but when I went in the other day and asked the clerk to check my balance … she leaned over and pushed me.”

Have a good week!
