Jottings by Jerry – June 19

The days haven’t exactly been warm but they have been pleasant. There is promise for warmer days. The crops are looking good in places and a little slow in others. Time will tell what the value will be. We received, in varying degrees, about an inch of rain on Saturday. We have the promise of a good amount more this week.

There are new foods on the menu at the State Fair this year. Duck Drummies is just one of many new offerings. The drummies are batter-dipped, seasoned duck wings that are deep-fried and served with a tequila dipping sauce. While you’re in-line you might consider a Peaches-n-Cream Nacho which includes everything good and a Lavender Lemonade. Tacos on a stick could be your favorite or Shrimp & Grits Fritters. Go bold and go hungry.

Talking about Duck Drummies right after the Fulda Wood Duck Festival seems a little odd or indecent. The festival was a great time. There were new things blended with familiar good times. Hats off to everyone who took part in the production and the execution of the celebration.

I started a new job as a security guard last night.

Before my boss left he told me I had to make sure I watched the office all night.

I am on season 2 already but I don’t know what it has to do with security.
