Jottings by Jerry – July 10

We are into the last half of 2019 and looking at the summer screaming past us. It happens. We are busy and that’s the way it works. I was able to pick ripe tomatoes from the vine. A full cluster of them, cherry tomatoes and they are in a container. I do have Early Girl tomatoes that will be ready for our first BLT by Thursday. Potatoes are looking great and the onions are ok.

Looking for good entertainment this weekend? There is some of best at the Classic Draft Horse Show boasting twelve six-horse hitches in competition and a great time with farm team demonstrations. Bring the kids for fun, it starts Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

The following weekend, July 19 and July 20 Adrian will be celebrating Christmas in July with a great parade and the Ribs and Rims. Good food and music are hard to beat.

Fulda has a Roll In this Thursday night. Dundee will have their famous Nothing Days July 27.

Rushmore will host Community Days this weekend. The Edgerton Dutch Festival is this weekend July 11-13. Brewster Fun Days are July 19-21.

There are extra points to those who make it to all of these events, no tests, no reports, just good food, and good neighbors. I would guess that almost all of the Democratic Presidential Candidates will be in these parades and celebrations shaking hands and kissing babies and talking big.  The Republican hopeful, our president Donald Trump may overlook our lower corner of the state. His loss.
