The MCC Rebel girls were back at home Thursday completing the homestand that lasted nearly two weeks. The Rebels were looking to end a three-game losing streak and they were facing a team who had struggled as well in the Tracy Milroy Balaton Panthers game. The Panthers were also riding a three-game losing streak into the game as both teams were in desperate need of a win. The teams played hard in this game but execution decided this game and it was good news for the Rebels.

The first half was frustrating for players, coaches and fans alike. The Rebels defense was terrific as MCC forced the Panthers into 23 first-half turnovers. Turnovers often figure into a point per turnover. Well MCC scored 23 first-half points and that is an issue. MCC shot just 22 percent from the field in the first half. The Rebels also had ten turnovers in the first half but the real issue was the poor shooting.

When you turn the ball over like the Panthers did you limit the number of shots you get? MCC took 20 more shots than the Panthers in the first half. With the Rebels struggling to shoot the Panthers stayed in the game trailing 23 to 17.
