Dorothy Prahm – Obituary

1944 – Dorothy Marie Prahm – 2019

Dorothy Prahm was born on May 26, 1944 in Fulda, Minnesota to Frank and Agnes Ehlers Anderson.  She grew up in Fulda and attended Fulda High School.  On November 19, 1966 she and Robert “Bob” Prahm were married at Faith Lutheran Church in Avoca, Minnesota.  Following their marriage, they made their home in Slayton, Minnesota where Dorothy worked at Burkland’s Clothing Store.  In 1986 Dorothy went to work at Page 1 Printers in Slayton.  In 1987 they moved to Keeley Island.  Dorothy retired in 2008.  Bob passed away on February 21, 2017.  In December 2018 Dorothy moved to Laurels Peak Rehabilitation Center in Mankato, Minnesota where she passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at the age of 74.  She was member of Faith Lutheran Church Avoca until it closed, she then joined Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton.  She also was a member of the Keeley Island Association.  Dorothy enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  She maintained beautiful flowerbeds and a beautiful home.  She loved genealogy and handcrafting family Christmas stockings.

Survivors include her son Robert Prahm and his wife Joyce, Mankato, MN; one granddaughter Katelyn Prahm; two step-grandsons: Dylan Welling and his wife Candace and Austin Welling,  and one sister Donna Appel, Mankato, MN.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Bob.

Memorial services were held at Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton, MN on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Grant Fischer officiating.   The organist was Nancy Lee Pierson.  The honorary pallbearers were her nieces and nephew.  Interment is at Slayton Memorial Gardens, Slayton, MN.
