The MCC Rebel boys experienced the calm before the storm this past week. They had one game scheduled on Thursday night against the Southwest Minnesota Christian Eagles. This week the Rebels will play four games in five days to complete the regular season taking on two of the top teams in the area among those four games. So playing just the one game this past week was a great way for the Rebels to get practice time in and to focus on beating the Eagles, a team that beat them by 35 points earlier this season.

The Rebels maybe faced the Eagles at the right time. SWC was coming in losing four out of five games and though the games were close for the most part they have struggled. The Rebels and the Eagles had the same number of losses on the season coming into the game with six losses each. This would go down as the Rebels best game of the season to date. The first half of this contest was back and forth with both teams having leads at different times but those leads were no larger than six points. The Rebels had a three person attack much of the first half with Justin Benda, Nate Everson, and Tyler Groves leading the way for the Rebels. Benda played some great defense all night long as he took advantage of his opportunities in his sweet spots on the floor scoring nine points.

Everson and Groves scored eight points each with Groves scoring on the low block and Everson getting to the free throw line while also making the teams only three point shot of the half.
