Rebels fall short in overtime battle with Fulda

Friday night the MCC Rebels were back at home for the first time in the new year. The Rebels were getting the first chance to play their rival the Fulda Raiders. The Raiders were 4-6 coming into the contest and the Rebels were just 1-9. The Rebels have struggled a great deal in their last three games but on Friday night the Rebels put together their best game of the season. The question was could they win? It was so close for the Rebels and the Raiders and 36 minutes would not be enough to decide the highly contested game.

The MCC Rebels first half was played much like their last two games. Too many turnovers, poor shooting, and lack of offensive polish. Defensively the Rebels did a nice job in the half court not allowing the Raiders to get many open shots around the basket. Away from the hoop the Rebels struggled to contain Emily Schroer in the first ten minutes and Randi Tiesler in the final nine minutes.
