From urban-suburban of St. Louis, Missouri to quaint rural Minnesota Pastor Kory Tedrick is enjoying his surroundings at Lake Sarah Baptist Church.

Pastor Kory was born in St. Louis, Missouri and then shortly after that the family moved to central Florida. His father worked in defense contracting which lead to a couple of different moves while Pastor Kory was growing up. After the stint in Florida, the family moved back to St. Louis which is where Tedrick graduated.

Initially, he furthered his education to become a special education teacher. However, a couple of years into this schooling Tedrick realized he wasn’t cut out for that line of work.

Tedrick took some time off from school and worked at a jewelry store. He returned to college and studied art. In between his sophomore and junior year of college, while selling office supplies, Tedrick met his future wife at the local mall via a co-worker. “She came in and I went home and told my mother that I met the woman that I was going to marry,” commented Tedrick. “I hadn’t even asked her out.” They dated for three months and then became engaged. Three years later after completing his course work and obtaining an art degree from Lindenwood University at St. Charles, Missouri, the couple was wed. Despite his art degree Tedrick went back to the jewelry industry doing repairs as well as designing pieces of jewelry. He did do a brief stint substitute art teaching in St. Louis for three semesters as well as coaching pole vaulting. “This did convince me that I didn’t want to be a teacher.”
