Saturday, February 1, 2020, was opening day for a much anticipated new store in Fulda –  The Store. The new business is located on Fulda’s St. Paul Avenue next door to the office of the Fulda Free Press, and also a neighbor to another new business that will be available to customers in the near future – SheBrews. Owned by Randy and Denise Dierks, The Store will offer a large variety of items, including handmade furniture, home decor,  and wood carvings created by Randy and his talented crew at Carvings Done Right.

The wood crafting business, which had its beginnings in 2014, is well-known for quality handcrafted items, many made from re-purposed wood.  “I like making items from wood and enjoy seeing what we can make an offer to our customers,” Dierks said.

“The Store will also have unique items from several other talented people who live in our local area,” Dierks stated. “We want to showcase those talents in The Store. It is amazing how many very talented people we have in Fulda.”

Vendors that are currently slated to provide their items for sale at The Store include Carvings Done Right, Feather Bed Quilting by Sara Heintz, Paper and Soul from Rebby Lee, Gramma’s Kitchen by Mari Saxhaug, Cindy’s Handmade Greeting Cards made by Cindy Dierks, Beckmann Designs by Shelley Beckmann,  and J.J.’s Plum Crazy from Jen Kaufman Nagorski. These vendors are already known for their quality products.

The interior of The Store (formerly Probst Jewelry) has been remodeled with a rustic theme. An antique stained glass window and a sliding barn door separate The Store and SheBrews. Re-purposed wood has been used for enhancing the rustic theme.  Shelving and display cases have been made by Dierks and his employees.
