Standard Desk Seating May Become a Thing of the Past

Although flexible seating isn’t a completely new concept, it will be a new option for four classrooms at West Elementary this fall.  Kati Bobeldyk, Kristy Baker, Nichole Paulzine and Tammi Paulzine are seeking funding to help create a better learning environment for their students.  “My sister, who teaches in Pipestone, decided to do flexible seating in her classroom last year,” shared second grade teacher Katie Bobeldyk. Little did she knew fellow teachers had also read about this option for seating and became very interested. “She found the seating option very effective in their learning process and absolutely loved it.”  Bobeldyk started investigating the information via blogs and instagram regarding how teachers who were using this type of system liked it.
