School Board holds organizational meeting; accepts letter of resignation from Karen Beers

The Murray County Central school board Monday night held its re-organizational meeting of the year, welcoming new board member Maddie Robinson.  Re-elected to serve as Chair was Dan Woldt, Clerk Lauren Biegler, Treasurer Sue Streff, and Vice Chair Tony Clarke.

The board approved no changes in setting its board meetings on the second Monday of the month at 6:00 p.m.  Honorarium for board members was set at $70 with additional compensation of $500 per year for the chair and $250 for the clerk.

Staff members Lisa Rademacher and Deb Bleyenberg were authorized to perform the duties of treasurer and clerk and the District will retain legal counsel of Rupp, Anderson, Squires, and Waldspurger. Board committee assignments were reviewed and appointments made.

The board accepted the letter of retirement from veteran teacher Karen Beers who is retiring at the end of this school year. Additional personnel matters included lane changes for Adam Neubarth and Brenda Whitehead as well as a long term substitute contract for Mark Holten and at-will contract with Jessica Thunder Hawk as a bus attendant.
