It was homecoming week at Murray County Central and the Rebel volleyball team got a chance to add some spark to the week of festivities by hosting conference opponent, Mountain Lake Area. Though the Rebels were down in a couple of sets, they found a way to fight back and come up with key plays that put them on the winner’s side of the scoreboard.

Right away in the first set, the Rebels were able to gain a quick 4-1 lead before the Wolverines came back and tied the set up at four points. The two teams went back and forth for a little while until a few errors gave the Wolverines a slight advantage. A time out was called by coach Kate Robinson to sort out some things. Following the time out, hits by the Rebels couldn’t stay in bounds and that gave the Wolverines a little bigger lead.

A short while later, the Rebels started a comeback. Back to back kills from Mallory Loosbrock and Amanda Muecke put the Rebels within a point of tying the set up. Mountain Lake Area was able to pull away slightly again, but back came the Rebels one more time.
