The MCC Rebels were on the road for just over two hours Friday night as they took the long trip to Ortonville Minnesota. The Rebels blew out the Trojans last season in Slayton but since that time Ortonville has hired a new coach and has put together a roster with the ability to score some points. The Trojans were able to win their first game of the season by outscoring the Red Rock Central Falcons behind the great play of Tyson Powell the team’s lightening fast running back. The Rebels defense has been up to the task through the first two games of the season the question was could they do it again? The Rebels mantra could have been “Stop Powell” maybe it was because the Rebels did just that. The Rebels defense led the way in week three as MCC improved to 3-0.

The Rebels starting defense had allowed one touchdown in two games this season using strength up front with great speed in the linebacking core and in the secondary. The Rebels tried to tie up the offensive line of their opponents and then rally to the football using that speed and it has worked.
