The MCC Rebels were on the road for week seven of the highschool football season. They were playing the toughest team on their schedule according to the state rankings. The Wabasso Rabbits were ranked number two in the state of Minnesota and undefeated on the year at 6-0. The Rabbits are one of the most experienced teams not only in the district or the section but maybe in the state. With 14 seniors and seven players that are starting for at least the third year of their career very few teams have played more games. The Rebels knew it would take an unbelievable effort to pull off the upset. The Rebels didn’t get the win in this game but they gave a  great effort and a good showing for themselves heading into the final game of the regular season.

The Wabasso Rabbits point points on the scoreboard the very first possession of the game. The Rabbits running game is impressive as you would expect by any team called the Rabbits. Cooper Taylor led the first drive which covered 61 yards on five running plays, four by Taylor including a touchdown run covering 29 yards. Taylor had a huge game but the first drive was 58 of the 61 yards from scrimmage.  The extra point by Colton Taylor was no good and MCC trailed 6-0.

MCC failed to score on their next possession and again the Rabbits marched down the field with the big play coming on a 65 yard run by Colton Taylor who was chased down by Ethan Swanson before he could score a touchdown. Kyle Jacobson scored on an eight yard touchdown run with 5:07 remaining in the first quarter. The extra points was good by Colton Taylor making the score 13-0.
