1953 – Larry “Lee” Mark Cote – 2020

Larry Cote, the son of Norman and Doris (Haugen) Cote, was born on August 8, 1953, in Tracy, Minnesota. He grew up in Slayton, Minnesota and attended school. After graduation, he attended vocational school. Larry entered the U.S. Army in 1974 and served with the Army National Guard until 1998. Larry was united in marriage to Marnella Cox on September 6, 2008. After their marriage, they continued to live in Slayton. He remained at home after Marnella passed away in November of 2019. Larry passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2020, at his Home in Slayton at the age of 66. He had a true passion for music, telling stories and telling jokes. He enjoyed his career in carpentry. Larry loved his family and helping others.

Survivors include his children: Bobbi Jo (Ryan Hebrink) Cote, Slayton, MN, Samantha Jo (Travis) Moon, Slayton, MN, Casie Jo (Brian) Padar, Houston, TX, Camren (Anne) Ackerman, Sioux Falls, SD, Myron (Vicki) Trejo, Brandon, SD and Stella (Tyson) Elder, Brandon, SD; 22 grandchildren; mother Doris Cote, Slayton, MN; brother Ronald (Jane) Cote; two sisters: Wendy (Perry) Fox and Marcia (John) Sanda. He was preceded in death by his father Norman; wife Marnella and daughter Billi Jo Cote. 

Funeral services were held at St. Ann’s Catholic Church Slayton, MN at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 21, 2020, with Fr. Thien Nguyen officiating.  The organist was Judy Andrews. The song leader was Joanne Halbur. Special music by Ron and Jane Cote. Honorary pallbearers were Jeremy Johnson, Bruce Haugen, Brian Padar, Travis Moon, Ryan Hebrink, Camren Ackerman, Myron Trejo, and Ron Cote.
