The Murray County Central Rebel boys had two Red Rock Conference games this past week. On Tuesday night the Rebels took on the Heron Lake-Okabena-Fulda Coyotes in Fulda and then on Friday they were on the road to Edgerton battling the Southwest Christian Eagles. The Rebels knew it wasn’t going to be an easy week as both the Coyotes and the Eagles have some talent. Looking for their first win of the season, the Rebels had hopes of accomplishing this feat, however, such was not the case.

Tuesday’s matchup was the first-ever meeting in boys basketball between the Rebels and the Coyotes. The Coyotes are the coop between Heron Lake Okabena and Fulda and the combination of the schools has put together a team with some talented guards and young developing forwards coached by Colby Pack who returns to the sideline.

The Rebels and Coyotes played a fun first half with both teams making some great plays. Zach Thier and Brandon Hinkeldey each connected two three-point shots in the first half with both players scoring in double figures in the first 18 minutes with 11 and 10 points respectively.
