Following the road loss to the Falcons of Red Rock Central, the Rebels hosted another conference opponent later in the week.  The Hills-Beaver Creek Patriots came to Slayton where the Rebels hoped to get back on the winning track.  However, the Patriots came ready to play took down the Rebels in three sets.

The first set started out back and forth between both teams.  The Patriots took the first point before the Rebels tied it up with a hard hit from Elise Rohrer.  The Patriots slowly climbed to a three-point lead before the Rebels worked their way back with blocks at the net and hits that sailed out of bounds.  That trend continued for a short while before the Rebels went on a small four-point run to take the lead, 8-7.  However, the Patriots got it right back with a small run of their own.

Both teams kept that same trend going through the middle part of the set and remained close to the end of the set as well.  The Rebels at one point had the lead again with a big hit from Mallory Loosbrock, but just like earlier in the set, the Patriots came back to take a two-point lead.  MCC didn’t give up and gave the Patriots a fight down the stretch, but a couple of errors made by the Rebels set the Patriots up with a chance to take the first set.  A timeout called by the Rebels hoped to spark a turnaround late, but the next play after the timeout gave H-BC the win in the first set, 25-21.
