A familiar face will be greeting those at the extension office. Kim Hause has been hired to fill the role of youth development and heading up the 4-H programming.

Hause first became familiar to those in the area when she and her husband owned and operated the Painted Prairie Winery by Dovray. After a short stint in Kansas, they were excited for the opportunity to return to the area. When asked why they returned Kim shared, “This is home to my kids. Kansas was wonderful and taught me there are good people everywhere. With our parents living near the Twin Cities, it made sense to be closer to them.”

Working with children is something Hause looks forward to, and has, in fact, been serving in that capacity while a paraprofessional at Murray County Central schools and also did a year in Kansas. In addition, she is a soccer coach and has been a Girl Scout leader.

She officially started her position at the extension office on Monday, September 24th. Although not totally familiar with all the programming involved, Hause isn’t a stranger either. She has volunteered her services to former educator Margie Anderson – helping with several of her past events. In fact, Anderson highly encouraged Hause to apply for the position. Anderson applauded Hause stating how great she was with kids.  Hause smiled saying, “This wasn’t something I had on my radar. Who knew Margie would retire. I just assumed she went with the program.”
