The Hub Drive-In was slated to open this past Friday morning. In fact, staff was getting everything ready for the day when they noticed quite a bit of smoke in the interior.
Upon further inspection, it was determined the third heating unit had caught on fire. The Slayton Fire Department was dispatched to the location. They were able to control the fire and later removed the unit from the balcony to make sure everything was extinguished. Unfortunately, guests will have to wait a few days for the re-open to allow for some minor smoke cleanup.
