F/MCC Warriors travel to New Ulm for Quadrilateral Meet

The F/MCC Warriors traveled to New Ulm last week and wrestled New Ulm, Windom/ML and Glencoe Silver Lake.

The Warriors took on New Um the first round.  Dawson Blankenship led off and wrestled 106# against Carter Brandes.  Dawson challenged the sophomore, but ended up losing via technical fall to Brandes.  The Warriors forfeited to Jackson Bode at 113#.  Danny Blankenship came out at 120# and wrestled Nick Syverson.  Danny took Syverson down and kept the pressure on his opponent and pinned him in the second period.  The Warriors forfeited to Jake Bertrang at 126#.  Ryder Henning came out at 132# and wrestled one of New Ulm’s tougher wrestlers, Cole Ranweiler.  Ryder started off defending off his New Ulm opponent.  Ryder ended up getting caught and pinned.  Christian Kuball came out and wrestled Sean Howk a returning state participant.  Christian tried taking Howk down and wrestled tough through the 1st period.  Christian ended up being caught and pinned at the end of the second period.  Next up for the Warriors was Rylan Behnke who drew New Ulm’s top wrestler Hunter Ranweiler.  Behnke tried taking Ranweiler down but was countered and pinned in the first period.  Keigan Behnke came out and faced Wyatt Zuhlsdorf at 152#.  Keigan wrestled a tough match against the New Ulm opponent fighting off two different headlocks, but Keigan was beaten by 8pts which is a major decision.  The final Warrior to wrestle was Koyer Wendorff.  Koyer was wrestling 160# against Tanner Stark.  Stark took Koyer down and pinned him in the first period.  The Warriors ended up losing to New Ulm 63-6.  In the JV action, Eh Htoo Raw lost for the Warriors via pin to his New Ulm opponent.
