Like many summer traditions, going to the County fair is guaranteed to be a blast. It’s always fun to stuff your face with a funnel cake and take a daring ride on the Zipper, but one of the best parts of the fair - the free one - is walking through the animal barns. Horses, pigs, sheep, goats, birds, bunnies, and cattle fill most of the buildings dotting the Murray County Fairgrounds, making it practically a zoo. 4-H kids decked out in their cowboy boots and shiny belt buckles are scattered throughout the various buildings, taking care of their animals and preparing to show them. Over the last few years, some of these buildings have been replaced and updated. This year, it was the cattle barn’s turn.
