accepts bid for hay and crop acres; equipment surplus

The city council Monday night accepted the high bids for hay and crop acres adjacent to the airport.  Among three bids received, the high bid of $90 per acre for a total of $2,091.60 for  32.24 acres of hay ground was awarded to Jim DeYonge.  Top bidder for the 14.58 crop acres was awarded to Travis Stoel, at $209 per acre and a total of $3,047.22 per year.  Both contracts are for a five year period, from 2014 to 2018.
