Saturday was decent, but Sunday and Monday fabulous. One can imagine green grass and budding trees again.
There is the argument that the extra hour of sunlight that came with Daylight Savings Time on Sunday started the release from our ice age. It was a grand day. Saturday was decent, but Sunday and Monday fabulous. One can imagine green grass and budding trees again. The snow banks are shrinking and not to soon. Next week Thursday, March 20, is the first day of spring. We all know that we are not safe from snow and ice yet. Memories of last years ice storm are still fresh, but we have lived through those "cold to the bone" days for this year. The rain and snow on Tuesday has brightened the landscape some but not our winter woes. I was able to miss some of those cold, bad days in February and spend them on a warm sand beach with a gentle breeze. The only thing cold was the beverage of the day. The escape shortens the winter and breaks the cabin fever. Few knew I was gone and less cared, but it was needed. * * * A lawyer died and arrived at the pearly gates. To his dismay, there were thousands of people ahead of him in line to see St. Peter. To his surprise, St. Peter left his desk at the gate and came down the long line to where the lawyer was, and greeted him warmly. Then St. Peter and one of his assistants took the lawyer by the hands and guided him up to the front of the line, and into a comfortable chair by his desk. The lawyer said, "I don't mind all this attention, but what makes me so special?" St. Peter replied, "Well, I've added up all the hours for which you billed your clients, and by my calculation you must be about 193 years old!"
