When son #1 played in his first ever concert at the age of ten, I recall one particular percussionist who literally stole the show in the back row of the band.†
Some things just never change.† Growing up in a musical family, Iíve lost track of the countless school concerts that I have attended through the years.† It all started with two older sisters who played in the school orchestra.†

Mom and Dad and I would dutiful attend their performances held in the lofty old Memorial Auditorium in Worthington .† Iíll admit that as a youngster, most of those concerts found me sleeping in my fatherís lap by the end of the final song, but nevertheless, I was there and enjoyed the lilting music that had a way of lolling me to sleep. As I recall, dad would often tote along his cassette recorder to immortalize those wonderful performances, so I never really missed out on a minute of the music.
