Being nestled in the hub of Southwest Minnesota has its perks, and beginning next week, thanks to the Buffalo Ridge Regional Transit Route system (BRRT), residents in the area will be able to take advantage of a brand new transit system that is sure to make travel more accessible and available to all.

This pilot project, the first ever in the state of Minnesota, will include the counties of Murray, Nobles, Pipestone and Rock, and holds the promise of greater flexibility and accessibility to all residents of these counties.

According to Michelle Miranowski, local senior coordinator, the BRRT task force was formed over a year ago to work with coordinating the public transportation entities in each of the counties involved.  With the four-county area situated amid four major thoroughfares, including state highways 30, 59 and 75, as well as Interstate 90, it was apparent that a cooperation between the counties would be a benefit to the local population.
