Memorial services were held at Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton, MN on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Dawn Quame officiating. 
1944 - Bill Kahler - 2013

Bill Kahler was born on December 25, 1944 in Fairmont, Minnesota to Vernon and Revertie Lase Kahler. In 1949 the family moved to Jackson, Minnesota where Bill attended Jackson High School graduating in 1962. Following high school Bill attended Omaha Trade School in Omaha, Nebraska graduating in 1964. On December 2, 1967 he and Sue Ann Duke were married at the Congregational Church in Spencer, Iowa.  Following their marriage they made their home in Jackson where Bill worked for the Tufvesson Ford Dealership in Jackson. In 1973 they moved to Tyler, Minnesota where they owned and operated Bill Kahler Ford Dealership until 1993 when it closed. They then moved to a home on Lake Shetak near Slayton, Minnesota. Bill worked for Napa Auto Parts in Slayton, Salmon Auto in Tracy, Minnesota, Anton Chevrolet in Marshall, Minnesota and Schwan’s Call Center in Marshall. He was currently working at Kmart in Marshall. Due to failing health Bill moved to Our House Hospice Home in Slayton on October 19, 2013 and passed away there on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at the age of 68.  He was a member of the First English Lutheran Church in Tyler. He also was a past member of the Tyler Lions Club and the Tyler Chamber of Commerce. In his younger day’s Bill enjoyed racing at the Jackson Speedway. Bill enjoyed Salmon fishing, golfing, bowling and watching the Minnesota Vikings and Sprint Car Races.

Survivors include his wife Sue Kahler, Slayton, MN; two children and their spouses: Jeffrey and Wendy Kahler, Wahpeton, ND and Kristian and Cory Kanstrup, Mankato, MN and seven granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his father Vernon Kahler; mother Revertie Wohlers and stepfather Chester Wohlers. 

Memorial services were held at Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton, MN on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Dawn Quame officiating. The organist was Brenda Whitehead.
