Coach Kim DeLong
to receive Class A Coach Of The Year Award
By: Sean Solheim Murray County News Sports

Not very often does a coach receive a high honor as Class A Coach Of The Year within a couple years of coaching once again in any sport. However, with the dedication and hard work from the MCC golf program, Rebels Coach Kim DeLong will be awarded with that honor on October 12.

Coach DeLong has been involved with golf her entire life, so her knowledge of the game is very natural for her. While she attended high school in Webster, South Dakota, she continued her golf career under the direction of Webster’s Head Golf Coach and her father, Gene Potas. She also advanced to the South Dakota state golf tournament as a junior high golfer and placed 13th individually and also helped her team place 2nd in the state tournament while she was a sophomore. DeLong graduated from Webster High School in 1988.
