Joy in the Journey By Linda Beerman

September 11, 2013

In my walk this week, I have had times of tears and also of laughter.
Matthew 9:36 and 37 are verses that always convict me. "And seeing the multitudes, He felt compassion for them because they were distressed and downcast like sheep without a shepherd. Then He said to his disciples, ' The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few' ".

Jesus did not say there is a lack of Christians, a lack of need, a lack of projects, a lack of opportunities, or even a lack of superstars. There is simply a lack of laborers! Since I have retired over a year ago, it is even more apparent to me that the harvest is plentiful right where I am! There is no lack of the "work" one can do to encourage or bring help to someone. Sometimes I ask myself how I ever had time to be employed!
