Elijah Johnson, Brainerd native, is excited to join the ranks of the Murray County Central staff. He will take over the helm of the vocal muisc department at the high school.

Johnson, a 2009 Brainerd High School graduate, furthered his education at Concordia in Moorhead where he obtained his Bachelors in vocal music education.

His first love of music was with instruments and in fact, initially wanted to pursue instrumental music. It wasn’t until his junior year in high school Johnson discovered vocal music and developed a true passion. “One of my good friends told me I was really good at tuning the tympani,” explained Johnson. “You have a great ear and I bet you would be great in choir.”
