SPD on the beat

The Slayton Police Department (SPD) received a report from an adult female in the 2700 block of Maple Avenue at 9:14 on the morning of June 24, 2013 her juvenile daughter was missing. Sometime during the night, the daughter and the daughterís bike disappeared. SPD conducted an extensive search locating the daughter in the city at 9:27 that morning. The daughter was found to be all right. SPD released the juvenile into her grandmotherís custody.

An adult female contacted SPD at 1:48 that afternoon regarding an auto service bill the callerís grandmother received from a local shop. The caller thought the bill was exorbitant, so she contacted the shop. She indicated to SPD the person at the shop was rude to her. SPD spoke with all persons involved in the matter and advised them this was a civil matter.

Report of an injured cat in the 2400 block of King Avenue was received at 6:00 in the evening. SPD located the cat and picked it up.
