Phyllis Fannie (Reynolds) Barrie was born February 17, 1922 on the family farm north of Tracy, Minnesota to Philip and Fannie (Flesner) Reynolds. She attended country school near Balaton, Minnesota and graduated from Tracy High School in 1941. She furthered her education at Mankato Commercial College. On October 1, 1945, Phyllis married Charles Barrie at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Currie.  Together the couple lived in the Currie, Minnesota area and Phyllis worked at Campbell’s Soup Company. They moved to Dovray, Minnesota where she operated the restaurant until it was destroyed by a fire in 1967. The couple then moved to Westbrook, Minnesota where Phyllis has resided since. Phyllis was famous for making her potato salad. She ironed, mended, and altered clothes for people in the community. She spent her time babysitting and caring for all the elderly neighbors, checking on them and bringing them goodies. Phyllis was a proud Gold Star member of the Westbrook VFW Auxiliary.  She enjoyed gardening, canning, crocheting and needlework. She loved to read her romance novels, and play cards – especially Pinochle. She and Charles loved traveling and seeing the country. Phyllis Fannie Barrie age 91 of Westbrook passed away peacefully Thursday, July 11, 2013 at her home while surrounded by her family.
