“I wanted the tractor to be for breast cancer, but I also wanted a way that we would not leave out the other types of cancer,” Engelkes commented. “There are so many people and families that are affected by cancer in some form.” ERNIE ENGELKES
By Norma Dittman Murray County News Staffwriter A tractor painted pink and a man on a mission to spread the word about breast cancer awareness. That is what Ernie Engelkes, Slayton, MN, has done with his latest tractor refurbishing. “I was riding in the car one day with my son, Jeff, and I said, 'I'm going to paint that Super H pink. Jeff responded with 'What?' When I explained why, Jeff became as enthused about the project as I was,” Engelkes explained.

The American Cancer Society estimates that breast cancer is a disease that is diagnosed in about 232,340 women each year. It also affects 1 in 1,000 men in the United States every year. Many times, a breast cancer patient will find that the cancer will return in a different place in the body and sometimes as a different type of cancer, but still linked to breast cancer.
