It was Salute to Ag night at the Murray County Speedway this past Friday and a lot of salutes were given out. Big sonsorships from the Minnesota Corn Growers, Murray County Dairy Association, Ag Star, Murray County Pork Producers, and the Murray, Nobles, and Pipestone County Corn and Soybean Growers allowed for fans to walk right into the grandstands for free. With the stands full and lots of racers at hand, those in the Ag Business got a big salute on their night.

The Sport Compacts opened up the night with their feature race and on the pole for the first Salute to Ag race was Jon Joehnck and Cody Ross. On the first lap, Nikkya Betz took over the lead after starting in fourth place. Betz pulled quite a ways away before Stephanie Forsberg jumped up to second after she started fifth. With seven to go, Forsberg had claimed second comfortably while Betz had a commanding lead. In fact, it looked as though Betz was well on her way to another feature win for this season.
