1958-Mark Douglas Hartlep-2013 AKA "Batman"

Mark Harltep, son of Douglas & Gwen Hartlep (Prahm), was born on December 8, 1958 in Slayton, MN. He grew up in Mitchell, SD and Fulda, MN, graduating from Fulda High School in 1978. Mark was united in marriage to Mary Altman on May 19,1981, they worked at Sathers Candy Co. and lived in Worthington, MN where they raised their two daughters, Mallory & Miranda. After the marriage dissolved in 1994, Mark moved to Fulda and worked at Bedford Industries until 2012. Mark passed away at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD on Friday, May 10, 2013 at the age of 54. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Dundee, MN. Mark was a hardcore Minnesota Vikings and Jeff Gordon fan. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR, Twins, Gophers, Wild (North Stars), listening to music, along with visiting his family & friends. Mark was a dedicated father to his two daughters and dedicated "Papa" to his three grandchildren. He loved having them stay over, all the while playing games, going to the park, taking them to movies, bike rides around town or going to Nana's house and the grandchildren's favorite "Jammin out to Rock & Roll."

Mark was survived by his two daughters, Mallory Hartlep of Brewster, MN and Miranda Hartlep also of Brewster, MN; three grandchildren, Ethan (E-man) Hartlep, Madison (Maddy) Beckmann and Michael (Mikey) Weaver; mother, Gwen Hartlep of Fulda, MN; two sisters, Susan Jarvis of Gilby, ND and Alison Smith of Westbrook, MN; brother, Kyle Hartlep of Gilby, ND; sister-in-law, Karla Hartlep of Hesston, KS; niece, Aarin Rocha; nephews, Matthew Jarvis, Kyle Jarvis, Wade Albee and Jason Albee; special friend, Tina Thompson and her son, Brandon; along with many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Doug, brother, Tim and mans best friend, his dog Odie (Odeman).

Funeral Services will be held at First Lutheran Church Dundee, MN at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 18, 2013 with Rev. Rachel Wren officiating. The organist is Norma Dittman, The soloist is Cassandra Hovet. Eulogy reading by Pam Bloedel. The Honorary Pallbearers are Matthew Jarvis, Kyle Jarvis, Jon Petersen, Malik Sampson, Brandon Thompson, Dave McNab, Kelly Jorgensen, Jerry Murphy, Dale Ross and Dave Tittus. Interment at Slayton Memorial Gardens in Slayton, MN.
