Southwest Regional Development Commission (SRDC) representatives met with Region 8 legislators this past Thursday. The delegation conducted personal visits with: 23A Representative Bob Gunther, 22B Representative Rod Hamilton, 22A Representative Joe Schomacker, 16B Representative Paul Torkelson, 23 Senator Julie Rosen, 16 Senator Gary Dahms, and 22 Senator Bill Weber.

Talking points for the visits focused on aging issues, clean energy, and a number of issues important to the region.

Aging issues were a significant portion of the discussion. Streamlining level one contacts for pre-admission screening, expanding access to transition supports, and simplifying long term care consultation reimbursement was stressed in the initial discussions.
