It took Alex Solheim a while to fully decide if he wanted to run Cross Country while attending Murray County Central. After he and his friends talked about it, the decision was made to run with the Rebels. That decision opened the door for a great career that now extends into a recenlty built Mustang Cross Country program through Southwest Minnesota State University.

Solheim has ran track for MCC each Spring since he was a seventh grader, but he never got the itch to run Cross Country until the Summer before his Junior year. He and his friends decided to get up early, go on jogs around town, and that helped him get better convinced to run for the team in the fall of 2010.

He didnít really know what to expect when the first meet of the season came around, but as the season went on, he went above and beyond his expectations. In fact, at the conference meet, he fell just seconds short of being named to the All-Conference team. By falling short, that gave him motivation to do way better his Senior year.
