The efforts made by Earl Halverson and Chuck Terry continue to press on with another piece of memorabilia that will be displayed at the Murray County Museum. A banner was made in honor of the 1916 Slayton High School Boys Basketball team, which was the first SHS team to be invited to the state tournament. The idea for the banner started up when the idea for the trophy case that is currently displayed near the MCC gymnasium first came about. Donations for the banner were received through the “Wildcat” group that helped in the efforts in constructing the trophy case.
