Dr. Christensen's trip to Nicaragua

Christensen stated that while eating at a restaurant you will have anywhere from one to five dogs sitting at your feet waiting for you to give them food.

Dr. Sheena Christensen of VMC (Veterinary Medical Center) has always had a passion to travel. She started traveling abroad while studying animal ecology. It was a trip to Costa Rica where she had an experience with roaming dogs, when she became inspired to become a Veterinarian. She is thankful for this inspiration and since becoming a veterinarian has taken any opportunity that she can to return to these areas and give back to them.

Dr. Christensen along with American veterinary students attending Tuskegee spent seven days in Nicaragua spaying and neutering cats and dogs. All but one student were in their second year of veterinary school. The one exception was a third year student.
